My great grandfather was in the Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry,
Company A from April of 1862 until he was mustered out of service
with the rest of his company in Pittsburgh in October of 1865.
Battery B was attached to his brigade.
Studying the history of the battery is essentially studying the same history as his
and this gives me a deeper connection with him.
